Robert James “Bob” Ritchie, aka Kid Rock, does his part to showcase da Upper Peninsula in his new “Born Free” music video featuring gorgeous footage of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior.
I wish the Michigan musician great luck with the new album, set for a November 16 release. I hope its success encourages him to film another Pure Michigan video, next time in Rock, a U.P. farming town situated between Escanaba and Marquette.
He could cut his next album there: Kid Rock, Live from Rock!
Kid (or does he prefer Rock?) would likely enjoy a tall cool drink at Herb’s Bar. They’d probably pour his American Badass Beer and make sure his latest tunes were on the Juke Box.
The folks in Rock might even name him Grand Marshal of the annual Labor Day Weekend Parade.
I’m sure the ladies at the fire hall would save him a slice of homemade pie at their annual pie, but he’d probably have to stand in line with everyone else for a pasty. Those are a hot item at the festival each year.
Kid Rock Rocks Rock…
that’s the way it rolls, eh?

My daughter and I looked for the video online this weekend, but never did find it. Can’t wait to see it! I’ll bet Kid would love the town of Rock…seems like his kind of place

I think it’s a brilliant plan. Let’s start a campaign.

Herb’s Bar is looking pretty flashy with its bright paint colors. Oh, how I miss the Labor Day weekend in Rock, hanging with relatives, and all of the festivities.

Born and raised in rock. Been to every labor day since 1984. If Kid Rock Ever comes there. I will never go back! He is a Poser. I’d much rather listen to the polka bands. At least they are original!

Then you’ve seen our family in the parade with our floats over the years (not in a while, though).
I prefer the polka bands myself.
