The mailbox was jammed with guesses for the location of last week’s Where? Wednesday photo, but only one entry was correct.
Several folks thought it looked like Tallulah’s Folly in Lansing’s Old Town, which I happened to visit and write about last July.
But only Sharlan Douglas of Royal Oak correctly identified it as Traffic Jam & Snug in Detroit’s Midtown. The restaurant and bar, established in 1965, also houses a bakery, dairy and microbrewery.
Shar, who’s frequented “TJs” over the years, noted, “While this fountain doesn’t have a urinal, it could have!” She was referring to the distinctive wall ornament—a trough-like urinal—attached to the outer wall of the landmark building.

She wins a copy of Uncle John’s Bathroom Reader Plunges into Michigan.
Congratulations, Shar, and thanks to all who played along with Great Lakes Gazette.
