Pure Michigan Update: Tulips And A Grand Lady

Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel has welcomed guests since 1887

What do tulips and a Grand Lady have in common?

They’re both signs of another Pure Michigan travel summer season.

I’m on the road checking out Holland and the Tulip Time Festival — the flowers are blooming and the wooden shoes are out in full force. Head to West Michigan for this 80+ year tradition, which officially runs from May 1-8.

Check back — more about Holland coming soon.

Okay, so these tulips are from our yarden; check back for pix of Holland's tulips

And don’t miss this Detroit Free Press story about a true Michigan treasure, Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel, as it prepares to open for the season next week.

Right now, it’s a gorgeous day and I have more exploring to do in Holland!

  1. That’s my kid who will be selling you the Polish hot dog at the Dutch festival. lol

    • The good looking guy? I saw him!
