Here’s A Tree-riffic Idea

Dig the greenery at Michigan’s state parks? You can add to the wooded wonderland without having to pick up a shovel in the Plant A Tree program hosted by Odwalla, the makers of energy bars and beverages.

All you have to do is click on Michigan’s Mitten at the Odwalla website and the company will donate $1 towards a tree for the state park system. Really.

Last year Michigan State Parks received more than $50,000, making it possible to replace trees in areas affected by the Emerald Ash borer and other pests.

At the moment Michigan has earned 122 trees, far behind Pennsylvania (589) and Virginia (472).

Spread the word: email, tweet, and text—heck, pick up the phone—and tell everyone you know to get clicking for Michigan!

Whew. Planting trees is hard work.

I may need to refresh with an Odwalla Mango Tango smoothie.

  1. Odwalla is hard to find UP here though my granddaughter and I love them! I shall scurry right over there and get some trees for our fine state!

Your sunset (rise?) photo is beautimous!

    • Thanks—that is a sunset shot from Brockway Mountain. Could not believe how smooth Lake Superior was!
