Since 2003 we have welcomed the New Year at Blue Skies, the getaway we built on a Lake Michigan lot in the Upper Peninsula.
We’d enjoy a nice dinner and celebrate with the neighbors, who have two kids about Graham and Paige’s ages.
But due to life events and circumstances we’re breaking our tradition; we’ll say hello to 2011 from our spot in the 313.
If you’re looking for last minute ideas and ways to ring in the New Year, check out michigan.org, the Travel Michigan website, and search New Year’s Eve; you’ll find celebrations like the 41st Family Fun Run and Walk on Detroit’s Belle Isle, and overnight getaway packages across the state.
We’ll be tucked in at home, watching the ball drop in Times Square.—something we haven’t seen in years since we don’t have television at Blue Skies.
