You Auto See This Hidden Treasure: Detroit’s T-Plex

Mr. Ford's office at the Piquette Avenue plant

One of my favorite “undiscovered” gems of Michigan is the “Birthplace of the Model T” on Piquette Avenue in Detroit.

Check out my earlier story about this humble structure, and head there this weekend for a special Auto Show & Art Show with events through 4 p.m. Sunday, May 8.

Car part as art at T-Plex

Car nut or not, you won’t regret coughing up the $15 admission (it’s five bucks more than the regular admission) to support this significant piece of Detroit’s history.

The T-Plex offers tours Wednesday-Sunday into November if you can’t make it this weekend. A good tie-in to a visit to The Henry Ford and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, where you can take a ride in a Model T.
