Homemade: Saltlabs Pillows Are Good Stuff

Robbi Lindeman of Saltlabs creates beautiful and unusual accent pillows

Decorator pillows usually put me to sleep, but my eyes were wide open at the Saltlabs booth at The Rust Belt Market in Ferndale.

Globes and a giant world map form the backdrop for Robbi Lindeman’s beautifully constructed accent pillows. She selects the graphics from the 18th and 19th century maps and botanical and natural history prints she’s collected, and digitally prints the images onto fabric.

Illustrations include sea creatures, birds, flowers, maps, letters and numbers. Robbi neatly stitches pillows in four sizes; prices range from $36 to $48 (she’ll also do custom orders).

At the Saltlabs website you can learn about the origins of her Farmington Hills-based company’s name, link to her Etsy shop, and check on her blog.

Robbi’s pillows are the perfect gift for the person who has everything. And if the recipient drools while snuggling the pillow, no worries: the fabric is machine washable.

  1. Love, love these pillows. passed along to PM merchandise folk.

  2. Many thanks for the featuring my pillows and the Rust Belt Market. Had a great opening weekend so I’m planning on returning once a month, whenever possible. I’m scheduled now for June 4th-5th and July 2nd-3rd weekends. It’s a unique and fun venue and a great central location for Metro Detroit.
