Autorama In The Motor City

Custom cars star at Autorama, in Detroit February 24-26

“America’s Greatest Hot Rod Show” rolls into Detroit’s Cobo Center for the 60th annual Autorama, February 24-26. At the invitation of George, owner of a local auto body shop, TJ put together a board promoting his splatter-painted vehicle artistry and it will be on display at the George’s Collision booth.

At Autorama this weekend TJ is promoting his willingness to splatter-paint your car with this display featuring our Jeep

He and Graham will be there to see the eye-popping display of wheels including custom cars, trucks and motorcycles and:

  • a 10-car Cavalcade of Kustoms exhibit
  • Couwboys Cadillac display of Rancheros and El Caminos
  • Drag City USA Vintage Race Cars
  • Transformers Bumblebee Camaro
  • Appearances by TV personalities including a Jersey Shore girl and Austin “Chumlee” Russell from Pawn Stars
  • Vehicles owned by Kid Rock

And much more. For the first time I’m kind of intrigued…but probably not enough to attend.

It will be interesting to see the reaction to TJ’s idea of splatter-painting cars in a world that I associate with pristine, high-gloss paint jobs. If you go to the show stop by the George’s Collision booth and check out the Splattered Star display. It might convince you to have TJ take a roller and fan-blown paint to your vehicle.

Autorama tickets are $18 at the door ($5 for kids 5-12) but you can get discounted tickets in advance at O’Reilly Auto Parts.
