Contest Corner: Sip & Savor Michigan Wines

A sculptural sign marks the entrance of L. Mawby, one of the wineries on the Sip & Savor tour in May

You don’t have to be a wine snob to enjoy the annual Spring Sip & Savor weekend hosted by the Leelanau Peninsula Vintner’s Association.

In fact, the May 5-6 event in Michigan’s “Little Finger” encourages fun and wackiness with a casual, self-guided tour of the wine trail and prizes for the best entries in the Sip o’ de Mayo Hat Contest. 6802510461_12c3aae7fe_z

The Sip & Savor ticket price of $35 includes a visit to your choice of up to 8 wineries for beverage tastings and edibles, a souvenir glass, $5 certificate to use at your choice of LPVA winery, plus a $5 contribution to aid migrant education in Leelanau County.

This event typically sells out but if you’re at least 21 you could win a pair of Sip & Savor tickets from Michigan By The Bottle.

MBTB is the grape idea of Shannon and Cortney Casey who claim, “We’re not wine experts; we just know what we like!”

Entry to win the tix involves visiting the MBTB Facebook page before 11:59 p.m. Saturday, March 3rd and performing some sharing-and-posting-actions best done before you have a glass of wine.

Hurry! You must enter by the end of day March 3.

You can’t win if you don’t enter.
