The Michigan Festivals & Events Association‘s annual online auction is a chance to bid for goods and getaways, tickets to events and tours, and hotel and Bed & Breakfast stays.
Auction items include Beaver Island Ferry tickets, a Hudsonville Ice Cream Party for 100 people, tour and tasting packages at Michigan wineries and breweries, tickets to Michigan International Speedway, a guided fly fishing trip on the Pere Marquette and two-night stays at Grand Traverse Resort and at Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn on Big Manistique Lake in the Upper Peninsula.
New items may be added so check the auction site periodically for updates.
The auction opened April 11 and closes May 16, but bidding on two items closes earlier:
– the bidding ends April 16 for the tickets to the Bringing Back the 80s Festival in Frankenmuth
– the bidding ends May 9 for the pack of four tickets for the May 20 Detroit Tiger game at Comerica park
I was surprised to see how high some of the bids are after just one day of bidding. The pack of four Walt Disney World One-Day Hopper Passes, valued at $480, already has a $425 bid on it.
Not sure how many will end up being real deals, but if you like the auction bidding process and want to support the programs of the MFEA while trying to snag a prize you might find this a fun way to spend time online.
MFEA is an organization of tourism destinations and promotional offices, entertainers, suppliers, and, as the name indicates, those who put on festivals and special events. The association hosts educational seminars, workshops and networking opportunities for its members, and produces a calendar of events across Michigan.
The auction supports the educational and professional development activities of the MFEA Foundation.
