It’s cruisin’ weather in the Motor Capital, when classic car and hot rod owners take their prized wheels out for a joy ride, join in organized rides, or polish them for display in car shows, plain and fancy.

Many special events include car displays, like the National Strawberry Festival June 15-17 in Belleville, the July 27-29 Bologna Festival in Yale and Seafood Fest August 24-25 in Marquette. One of the few places you won’t find a car show is Mackinac Island, where no gasoline-powered vehicles are allowed.

Here’s a sampling of some upcoming car events you auto know; click each for hours, admission fees and other info:

Saturday-Sunday, June 16-17 – Motor Muster
The Henry Ford, Dearborn: Hundreds of vehicles from the years 1933-76 fill the grounds of Greenfield Village

Sunday, June 17 – EyesOn Design
Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, Grosse Pointe Shores: More than 200 cars selected for their design, including a 1930 Packard exhibited by 102-year old owner Margaret Dunning
