Where? Wednesday Winner

Oscar Mayer Wienermobile at Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn

Hot dog! All of the July 18 Great Lakes Gazette Where? Wednesday entrants correctly identified the location of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile: it’s displayed among the Americana at Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.

Oscar’s nephew Carl G. Mayer created the first tube steak-shaped promotional vehicle in 1936. The productmobile displayed at The Henry Ford dates to 1952, and is a popular photo op with visitors.

It’s displayed near the museum’s Wienermobile Cafe, where hot dogs are served a dozen ways. In the museum gift shop you can stock up on Wienermobile souvenirs, like a tiny whistle or a hand blown ornament in the iconic shape.

Where? Wednesday winner Sarah Richardson of Cape Coral, Florida, gets the prize: a handy Kozak Auto DryWash, the cloth that requires no water for cleaning your car.

Thanks to all who follow Great Lakes Gazette and play along with Where? Wednesday.
