Packard Progress Report

All summer long our driveway has been the scene of a concerted effort by Graham to get his 1951 Packard rolling in time for the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, which was held in Detroit’s northern suburbs on Saturday, August 18.

I have admired his focus, drive and determination (sounds like Finnish Sisu!) and am amazed by his ability to figure things out and accomplish so much as a self-taught mechanic.

But then, he’s always demonstrated those qualities.

Long before the Packard rebuild the garage and drive were his workspace for handcrafting a kayak and a motorboat. While he was in high school.
