Friday Freebie: Emmet County’s Blast From The Past

Whether you’re fascinated by the Petoskey area or Michigan history in general, you’ll enjoy the “Blast from the Past” emails from Emmet County, the territory at the Tip of Michigan’s Mitt.

The blasts come about twice a month and feature a short video about a site or topic by an expert on the subject, plus companion stories and photos.

The latest is about the Maple River and one man’s effort to protect it. Past subjects have included artesian wells, an archeological dig at McGulpin Point Lighthouse and the Petoskey Stone—Michigan’s official State Stone.

To received Blast from the Past contact Emmet County Communications Director Beth Piehl at bpiehl@emmetcounty.org
