Luck of the Lakes Raffle

A new museum dedicated to the Great Lakes is underway along the Maumee River in Toledo, Ohio, and you can help with the fundraising—-and have a shot at a $10,000 prize—with your purchase of a ticket in the Luck of the Lakes Raffle.

The National Museum of the Great Lakes, scheduled to open in 2013, is a project of the Great Lakes Historical Society, the City of Toledo and Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. In addition to the museum at the Toledo Maritime Center Great Lakers will enjoy the waterfront maritime park and museum ship S.S. Col. James M. Schoonmaker.

Luck of the Lakes Raffle tickets are $100 each, and a maximum of 3,500 will be sold for the drawing that will take place at the Treasures on the Lakes fundraiser on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Toledo (you need not be present to win). In addition to the top award of $10,000 the list of 14 prizes includes two, six-day trips on a Great Lakes freighter, more cash and regional travel packages. In a second raffle benefiting the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center in Duluth, Minnesota two trips for two aboard the freighter Edwin H. Gott will be awarded.

Winners will stay in the owner’s quarters on the 1,000-footer; tickets are $10 each or three for $25. That drawing will also be held on November 3rd in Duluth (need not be present to win).
