It’s that time of year…time to watch the gentle, family-friendly Christmas movie Prancer, about a girl who finds an injured reindeer she believes is Santa’s Prancer. The 1989 movie was partly filmed in Three Oaks in the southwest corner of Michigan.

Check out the FILMichigan story, and mark your calendar for 5:30 p.m., Sunday, December 16, when the movie will be shown on AMC.

I mention it today because this is Finland’s Independence Day, and everyone knows Santa lives in Rovaniemi, Lapland Finland.

Take a look at the gorgeous views of Finland set to “Finlandia” by Jean Sibelius.
